I recently read about a woman on a breast cancer sight who was getting ready to publish a list of “things I would liked to have known about prior to my treatment.” I think that a similar list could be valuable to men newly diagnosed and newly recurrent.

I would like to publish two lists, one for newly diagnosed and one for men who have discovered they have a recurrence.

For example:
I would have liked to have known that hormone therapy can cause confusion and memory loss.
I would have liked to have known that hormone therapy could cause nerve pain in my wrists and hands.
I would have liked to have known that some members of my family just are not able to handle cancer.
I would have liked to have known that there are different types of radiation available to treat p.c.
I would have liked to have known that supprt groups can be very helpful when deciding on what type of treatment to have.
