The week I just had brings to mind one of my favorite songs of all time – Holding Back the Years by Simply Red, Lyrics by Mick Hucknall (Yeah, I love the Brand Nubian remake too.) Here are the lines Hucknall wrote over 20 years ago that sum it up:
I’ll keep holding on
Holding, holding, holdingThat’s all I have today
It’s all I have to say
I’m going to play with my son. Kiss my wife. And be thankful, proud, and unbroken.
Love that song–hope next week is better!
Sorry to hear that.
Now I want to listen to my Best of Simply Red CD.
I just wanted to say “Hang in there.” I enjoy your blog and appreciate all that you share. I am a white mom to 1 bio and 5 Haitian kids, and have learned much from you. Thank you.
Be blessed. It does, and will, get better.
I’m just about down to my pinky-finger, but I’m still holdin’ on. Glad you are, too.
