My endorsement probably isn’t worth much, but I think that what the people at Idealist are doing is commendable.  A real sense of community is something that I believe we lost long ago and it’s worth trying to get back.  They are trying to do just that, and on a global scale.  Look into volunteer opportunities, talk to people, read about what’s going on in the world, or search their job bank.  Get involved.  (And if the resources and organizations represented on Idealist aren’t your cup of tea, figure out what is and do it.  Charity is always worth it.  And oh yeah, don’t be freaked out by all the white folk on the homepage, lots of black people use the website too.)
