We hear a lot in the press about the celebrity survivors and how they stand up and fight their cancer. They all are the benefactors of cutting edge treatments and the very best doctors.

However, we never hear about the little guy, the guy without insurance who will often receive substandard treatment, or no treatment. Medication is too expensive so it is rationed or just not taken. Shockingly, even our veterans, to whom we have made many promises, find that the cutting edge treatments and the best doctors are not available to them.

I don’t begrudge the treatment that the celebrities receive, they are entitled to it. So are the little people, they are as human as the celebrities.
