The National Prostate Cancer Coalition is sponsoring an advocacy day on the hill. They will set up meetings for you with your member in congress and assist you in preparing for your meeting. This is a great opportunity to have a voice and stop the continuing erosion in funds for prostate cancer research and care.
If we do not take this opportunity to stand up for ourselves nobody will and we alone will be responsible for our own plight.
I am going to be attending and you love to see you there. Let me know if you you will be in attendance and maybe we can arrange to meet.
The National Prostate Cancer Coalition is thrilled to announce our annual “Advocacy Day on the Hill.” This year’s event will be held on Thursday, September 27 and Friday, September 28. As part of Advocacy Day, NPCC will set up meetings for you with your Congressperson on Capitol Hill, where you will meet with them or their Chief of Staff to discuss the importance of prostate cancer research funding. This is a rare opportunity to meet face-to-face with your member of Congress and discuss this important issue with the people you have elected. This is also an ideal opportunity for members of Congress to meet real people with real concerns.
We have arranged for economical accommodations with the Days Inn on Connecticut Avenue in Northwest, DC, close to the historic National Cathedral. The two-day event includes a free private guided tour of the Capitol building, a workshop on effective advocacy, and an evening reception with great networking opportunities. There is no registration fee. Additionally, we pay for all your travel costs, including hotel and air transportation to and from Washington.
We will gladly book your hotel room for you. Or, if you prefer to do it yourself, you can book the hotel room with the Days Inn on Connecticut Avenue, call the Days Inn at 202-244-5600 and mention you’re booking for the “NPCC Fly-In Advocacy event”. We pay the bill.
NPCC is dedicated to raising awareness through outreach and advocacy, and we need your help to make sure the issues of the prostate cancer community are heard. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in participating in
