In light of yesterday’s piece on stem cell research, I have to say that I am upset that President Bush has just issued his second veto of the bill that would lift the restriction on human embryonic stem cell research.
Unfortunately, this veto will push this debate into the mainstream of the upcoming presidential race. This topic does not belong on the campaign trial. All of us suffering from any cancer, including advanced prostate cancer, as well as a myriad of other chronic, but terminal diseases will continue to suffer. We will suffer while the political talking heads will just continue to debate the issue as if it was only as important as whether or not we need a stop sign on the corner of State Street and Main Street.
