Folks, on August 13th I’ll be celebrating my first anniversary of participating in online conversation. It also happens to be my birthday.
When I initially posted to a bulletin board I was looking to spread the gospel of penile injections for ED, and I thought that would be the end of it.
My husband had had an RP about 10 months before (Oct. 15, ’05), and since then we had not had “normal sex”. We were advised to learn to “use our bodies in different ways”. Easier said than done. I did learn to French-kiss at forty-something, but things just weren’t the same.
Also, your mother doesn’t teach you how to, uh . . . manually stimulate a man. And “Ol’ Man River” must have surely known somethin,’ but he “didn’t say nothin’ (as usual). So I had to learn by trial and error.
I was stroking his penis in largo, e.g., slow and gentle, but I eventually learned that it only worked if I speeded up the tempo and the pressure, do it in allegro vivace, maybe.
Eventually we found a top-notch ED doctor who gave dear husband an injectible potion called Trimix. Like all guys, DH was not exactly keen on shooting up *there*. But after Dr. Melman gave him the first shot, his fears vanished. (He says to tell all you guys that it can be done. Don’t give up.)
Now this was SEX!!! Better than the real thing. Erections came in XL and above only. I am sure for a guy who hadn’t “seen action” down there in almost a year, this was a most welcome sight. And with Trimix *you* are in control. Just like with the Tempur-pedic bed, *you* set the firmness. And the pace. You can go on forever as long as time is no object.
Our first session with the elixir was proceeding at a leisurely pace when I happened to glance at the clock. I noticed it was coming up on an hour. I was getting a little tired, but being the competitive type I decided to go for a record — I held out for exactly an hour and a minute. Then I collapsed. Boy, did I need a drink and a Power Bar! But that was just a “dry run.”
I must tell you, dear readers, that if you take a breather, a “seventh-inning stretch” so to speak, you *can* even have a “double-header”. If you so desire.
Anyway, them came August 13, my birthday, and DH got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Monochromatic, pink and purple tones. Exquisite. I am a “flower child” in the sense that there is nothing I love more in the world than some pretty blossoms.
That same day DH went off to Vermont on a bike trip, and I became the “Trimix lady”. I had never had an interest in online conversation, but I felt I had an almost sacred duty to tell the world about this miracle cure for ED. So I rhapsodized a bit about it in alt.impotence and alt.support.cancer.prostate. I thought this would be a one-time thing. But then I got some nice notes from people in the groups (as well as some propositions), and I became hooked on prostate cancer conversation.
The biggest problem with injections for ED is that men are very put off by the prospect of “shooting up” there. But these fears can be overcome. After dear husband’s first shot at the doctor’s office, his fears went away.
Also, injections have been shown to play a role in “penile rehabilitation,” or restoring natural erectile function after surgery. Other methods have *not been proven* to do this. I have been researching and speaking out about penile rehab for almost a year, and this is something I will definitely be focusing on here.
Like everything, injections have a downside. You have to be sure to do it on both sides of the penis. Or you can end up with a “Leaning Tower of Penis.”
I just wrote to someone that Trimix could give an erection to a corpse who was doing his taxes:-))

Leah: I appreciate your candor and Old Man River’s willingness to share your “findings”. This adventure of PCa is all over the board and only by sharing our discoveries as patients and families can the whole, holistic, and quality of life story be pieced together. Thanks for the contribution of your couple’s journey–shared.
Leah, your posts are always informative, insightful, and a pleasant read. Happy “first anniversary” — which I trust you and Ted will celebrate well. Thanks to both of you for your openness in sharing what you’ve learned.
I was referred to your blog from the Circle and I’m so glad to have found you. We all need some humor, but I also feel your warmth and your wisdom. I will be a regular from now on. Thank you.
Just started trimix since my rrp 3mo ago, and yes sure dose work, still alittle apprehension with the needle, but that is nothing when you begin to feel the surge feeling as you start to inflate, 🙂 and even tho there is no fluid during orgasm, it’s a prolonged orgasm, great feeling,, i would like to hear from some other users, and your thoughts. thanks
Two years ago, looking for an alternative to Viagra, whose side effects (headache, blocked sinuses, nasty stiff neck, general ill feeling) were increasingly annoying, I discussed the issue with my urologist who recommended TriMix. Once past the initial apprehension of sticking a needle in Mr. Happy (a very easy transition since it is an easily tolerable minor prick, if you’ll excuse the choice of words), I have, at the age of 67, become an evangelist for the drug. Using it at least 5 times a week (my wife is, shall we say, very energetic when it comes to sex), it is, as my doctor says, truly the “Wonder Shot”. Instant, long lasting, no side effects. Just incredible. Anyone who suffers from ED, is looking for a solution, and doesn’t explore this wonderful alternative is doing themselves a great disservice.
What is the typical formula of trimix?
I believe it is papaverine, phentolamine and alprostadil (prostaglandin). If you want to learn more about this subject, I suggest you join the prostate pointers mailing list “PC and Intimacy”. Can’t recommend it enough. http://www.prostatepointers.org/mlist/mlist.html
They also have their own “wiki” where they store information for reference.

Leah,
Wow, your info is changing how I look at things. My husband is reluctant, but at least he knows how important this is to me. At first, I was disheartened that it isn’t THAT important to him, but I think the shot thing has him spooked.
In any case, things are getting better since I read your information. I thought it was “all over” but am finding out that just isn’t so. I’m looking forward to us getting better and better now that I found this website.
Thank you so much, you can’t imagine how much you’ve helped people.

This is not working for my husband, he has three bottles frozen and we are not having sex. Is he cheating or what?
It is stated to NOT freeze these hormones on the instructions as such will destroy the effect. Also, good info but my urologist says one should wait 48 hours between injections…is that necessary?
Had surgery for prostrate cancer on 2/17/11. Dr prescribed Trimix in April. Used
5 cc nothing happened. Next night used 10 cc it was ok. Very sore took 1.5 hrs to go down. Next time used 10 cc again nothing happened. A little sore.
Jumped to 12 cc had a great time but erection lasted 2 hours and very sore. Took 2 extra strength Tylenol , 2 sudafed and ice. Did not help.
Dr doesn’t want to change mixture. Wants me to try 10 cc again or go to 11 if 10 doesn’t work. Is trail and error normal? Is extreme soreness and two hour erection normal? I’m only 61.
Dear Steve,
As you know, I am not a doctor. But I can tell you that trial and error is normal with Trimix. You eventually learn to “titrate the dose”, which is just a fancy word for getting it right. And yes, you can have soreness, but it’s not normal. My husband had it once and he was pretty unhappy. Yes, you can have long erections with Trimix. Once, my husband was just about hitting the 4-hour mark, you know when you’re supposed to go to the ER. Try NOT to have longer erections because this can damage the penile tissue.
I suggest that you join the prostatepointers.org group called “PC and intimacy”. There are people in the group who are very knowledgeabe about this subject, although, like me, they are not docs.
Leah
For those of you haveing little luck with the trimix there is a Qudmix they just added atropine to the mix..
Steve,
Your Doctor can have Lidocaine added to the Tri-Mix to reduce or eliminate the pain.
I experienced this problem and Lidocaine was the solution.

Hi Leah ,
I had a radical prostatectomy in March this year , was 66 in June and in the same month my wife and me passed our 41 anniversary .Phew ! Medals ?
I am in UK ,where our health system is different to yours.
I would just like to pass on my thanks for your blog .I stumbled on it on Google but am relectant to say what words I used as a strap to ‘Google’ I found it amusing and informative but better than that, I found it encouraging .
I had just received a phone call from my General Practioner to say they will NOT prescribe the cialis that my consultant ( we refer to specialist sugeon as ‘our consultant ‘ ) had prescribed might help my/our problem.
Well done you ….and kind regards to you and your husband. Thanks

I haven’t had prostrate surgery or such; but am impotent due to blood pressure and anti depressives. I’m 61 and pills (Viagra, Levitra, Cealis, etc worked for awhile but eventually became ineffective). I’d given up on having a sex life, which is sad at 61 and sadder if you’re wife is 39 and has a libido that doesn’t have an “off” switch. Anyway, our marriage suffered because we had to make so many compromises to keep things going (I’ll not go into detail but some are considered “not mainstream”). Got the “tip” on trimix from my younger diabetic brother who nagged the hell out of me to give it a try. Yeh, I’ll try it, but the “needle thing” was really my big hang up. Anyway, I got a urologist who thought it was a swell idea. Showed me everything about the injection (got one) and everything was hunky Dory. Since I had little reaction to 15 units, he suggested I go up by 10 units (25) for my trial run with wife. Well, I took 30; close to 25 right? And had amazing sex with my wife for the first time in about 10 years. It was great! I went to sleep after almost 2 solid hours of mind blowing sex. Big mistake. Woke up with priaprisim and wound up in ER. Such fun! Not deterred, and having to wait almost a month to heal (believe me guys it’s no fun). I tried again, 15 units this time and bang! It worked again. Still the erection lasted almost 6 hours before relenting. Moral of story, don’t fall asleep if you still have an erection and listen to Leah. There is trial and error with trimix and dosage, but once you get the “sweet spot”; your life will change.
This is in response to Steve, May 21, 2011, just to clarify. Surely you are not taking 10-12 cc of tri-mix! I use 0.4 cc & Doc says I could go up to 0.9 & then, he would suggest a different “blend”. There is some trial & error involved. I have erections that last a couple of hours, depending on stimulation.
A friend of mine runs some of the Male Performance Clinics in TX introduced me to TRIMIX about 6 months ago and I can not be thankful enough,, It was a little nerve wrecking at first but after about the 7th time of injecting myself I have no hesitations about the process, It did not take long to get my doses correct so that I do not need antidote any more. that took about 2 weeks and I use every two days. I am starting to get natural erections almost every morning and threw out the day. I prefer the semi auto injector to the fully auto because I inject low on one side and higher on the other side of my penis. which makes my penis bigger in girth and it just seems to work better for me.and the girth is there now with my natural erections.I had no problems jumping feet first into this great thing and any man who has a healthy apatite for sex should not be afraid and jump in and please there lady’s,, they wont stop smiling!!! FYI,,,I have at least for myself, if you hafta knock it down a worm or hot shower or bath will do it and if not your mix needs to be adjusted. I had to adjust mine several times in the first few weeks,, I think my member forgot what it was like to stand up strait at first but not any more. I would like to thank the great staff Doctors and my good friend at The Men’s Performance Center In Cow Town FT Worth TX.
i am a 42yr old type 1 diabetic. though my condition is different from what i have read here, i share a side effect. my ED became an issue as i grew older till about 4yrs ago it stopped functioning all together. combined with PE this made intercourse a distant dream. i had tried oral medications which worked for a short time and after they stopped working i had all but given up. a yr ago i heard a commercial on the radio for a doctor here in FL that guaranteed success or your money back. as a corner store clerk it was 6 months before i had the free capital, $200, to make the appointment. After they checked for blood flow they gave me a test injection. a few minutes latter they checked on me for results. though i felt like it had no effect they claimed i had a 90% reaction to the test injection. they immediately went into the sales pitch for trimix and a auto injector. the trimix $145 for 5 doses and $195 for the auto injector. By this time i felt they maybe taking advantage of men with ED and left without purchasing either. after doing some research at home i discovered many pages like this one that claim trimix does work so 6 months later, last week, i called them up and ordered the 5 doses. its due to arrive this week and i cant wait to get with my wife for the first time in 4yrs. my question is $145 for 5 doses about normal and is there somewhere i can order an auto injector for less than the almost $200 they want.
My uro. waited a year before he gave trimix.works great but the only problem is it mostly last to long. My frist injection given to me to take home was 30 units. It lasted 6+ hrs. had to go to ER. Next injection was 10 units it was 4 hrs, since then I have used 4 to 6 units worked ok 2 to 3hrs.Last week I used 6 units and it lasted almost 6hrs.headed ER.but released before I arived . This is my 4th month.Any suggestions
Thanks Trimix Lady,
Having recently started using Trimix, I noticed after the second shot that I was able to perform fairly well between injections (5 cc) – I had been wondering about the rehabilitation aspect of what happened – nice to find out it is true. I also experienced some soreness – I will have to ask my urologist about the addition of licodaine. And I will have to remember to switch sides – the urologist never mentioned that one.
The first time the urologist offered this to me 2 or 3 years ago my wife was against it – none of the pills worked – headache, stuffiness – I wish I had not waited so long to try it.
oops 0.5 cc
Hi Guys, You need to seek professional help when using trimix. A urologist is a great start but they are not good enough. You need to go to an ED center that specializes in this. They will treat and adjust the medication so it works for you. We are located in Leawood, Kansas, Men’s Edge…913-553-4614. We are doing it right. We have over 300 formulations to work for you. Thanks….George
Tried trimix at different strengths before finding that I am one of the 7% of users for whom the effects are negated by Cymbalta (may also be surpressed by naproxen or ibuprofen– or other NSAIDS. So my choice is, sex or pain. Right now I am undecided. Feedback desired.
Explain to people what a unit is, and what a mark on a 1cc syringe is.
I see posts of 20 & 30 cc of tri-mix. I assume it is 20 or 30 units or 2/10 or 2/10 cc
not actually 20 or 30 units of trimix.
This misinformation can be dangerous to newbies.

Sorry I make the same mis-print or error.
For you guys that have went to Mens Clinics and are paying outrageous prices for trimix, visit a urologist and have his write a prescrip for trimix, then take it to a Compounding Pharmacy. I get about 25 doese for $125, supplies inc.
Hi Leah,
So happy there are women like you out there. My dear “boyfriend” (I am 61 and he is 66.. guess I should say partner or lover have used trimix for the last 4 yrs. He had his prostate removed in Jan. 2008. He had no problem getting used to it, as we both are pretty uninhibited and just wanted our old life back. It has been a Godsend. We love it. But, therein lies my question. The last 2 weeks, the needle does not seem to go in easily. It will bend, as if it’s hitting a hard spot. He tries several times to make it work, and is usually successful but that is frustrating to him, plus it has started to hurt him a bit. He’s going to the urologist tomorrow (the nurse practitioner there) to explain to her the problem. He uses 28 gauge needles, and the bottle of stuff has a different top on it, so we’re hoping it’s just a product, technical problem if you will. Anyway, if you have thoughts on what it could be, let me know. We are certainly not giving up! Best Wishes, SueJean
Anyony know Dr. who will prescribe trimix in North Carolina? Thanks!
I scheduled for my first trial dosage in 3 weeks and I am scheduled to leave on vacation two days later. Is there any concern about that? If my erection does last too long do they have a way to reverse the Trimax effect or is it a trip to the ER? If it does cause a trip to the ER how long does any residual pain last? I am going to Mexico from Michigan so I dont want any issues to come up while in Mexico. The appointments are very difficult to get where I live.
Hi, Has Radical Postectomy 14 months ago. Purchased a needle-free Injex unit for $300. tried trimix 30 then 50 units. Slight firming. bypassed the Mega trimix (double strength) to the Super Mega (double again) – Wow. aching and gone very bruised. as if the mix is either far too strong or gone to the wrong area. Injecting in areas 9-11 o’clock area and 1 to 3 o;clock area. Any other cases of this – still reluctant to try needle. Injex claims to penetrate to 0.9mm. It black and blue last 2 times sinc using the super strong trimix. Any thoughts?
Thought the first time must have hit a vein but second time was sure to miss a vein but still aching heaps. Used 20 units (1/5 ml) got about 35% erection. Blown out in middle. Any advice is appreciated – Freezing both TriMix and Super Mega TriMix until I can find a way. Last resort is to us standard TriMix with needle.
47 year old Type 1 diabetic. ED for several years now. Tried all the oral medications with no success. I thought that implant surgery was my only option so I went to a urologist who introduced me to Trimix.
I am now kicking myself for not going years ago. This stuff is wonderful! Don’t worry about the injections you’ll get over it its not really that big of a deal.
the hardest part is trying to learn to have sex again. Although it is kind of like riding a bike you don’t really forget.you just have to learn that you no longer have to rush it. You don’t have to worry about finishing before anything goes away.
if you suffer from ED go see a urologist. For years I just talked to my android can I adjust and my general physician and I should have gone straight to a specialist. Make the appointment right now, call them, you won’t regret it.
Leah,
Thank you for taking the lead on this. As a man who has used both pill type enhancements and TRIMIX, I prefer TRIMIX as there are fewer side effects. For men, once they realize there are relatively few nerve endings on the shaft of the penis, it is really quite a painless procedure. I would like nothing more than for my partner to take an active role in the process, however women can be just as squeamish as men about any injection anywhere…especially there. Keep up the fight Leah and get the women involved!
Three important points: 1. Never freeze Tri Mix (Read the directions), refrigerator, not freezer. Mine easily lasts 6 months in the fridge and long as I am care to keep it refrigerated. 2. There seems to be general confusion on the math – The bottles that I get are 5 milliliter or 5 CC (same units for practical purposes) and the doses are in fractions of ML or CC. A “unit” is specific for each drug, not a standard volume. For instance, my dose is 0.3 ML and so the 5 CC container is good for about 16 shots. At $120 for each prescription this is $7.50 per shot. 3. I have not seen syringes discussed. There is a huge difference in the comfort of various syringes and needle sizes, length and diameter. I have settled on high quality single use insulin syringes. I like the #31 diameter needle and rather than the 1/2″ needle normally recommended, I use a 5/16″ or 3/8″. I don’t just stab it in because a fine needle like this often bends and you wind up injecting just below the skin. I work it in by pressing down and moving up and down. The syringe should have two scales on it, the one in “Units” is probably insulin units, but it also has fractions of ML indicated. Common insulin syringes are available in 0.3 ml, 0.5 ml, and 1 ml.
One more huge point: TriMIx now comes in a gel which, with a special syringe, is forced into the urethra. I have not tried it and don’t know what the cost might be, but it might get over the folks that just can’t do injections.
This medication is truly wonderful.
Thank you for sharing your experience with trimix
Listen up! I can’t stress this enough. You must make sure the needle penetrates the Caverness. Spelling is wrong yes I know! You must feel the needle penetrate twice. Once through your outer skin and a second time into one of the two tunnels. If your penis is very flaccid during the injection time there’s a good chance you’ll miss it.
In regards to injections. I use an Owen Mumford Autoject El. It’s an inexpensive and well made device. You drop the needle in and press the button. Its painless. You can bring up demos online.
Great comments. I use the Ambimed “Inject-eaze” with 0.5ml, 31ga, 5/16” BD insulin syringes. (Not all syringes work with the “Inject-Eaze”). You can avoid hitting veins and can more accurately pick the shot Location. I’ve been using it for four years and have never bent a needle. I use a vacuum pump prior to injecting as it seems to give me a “fuller” erection. I started using Trimix a few months after my “nerve sparing robotic prostatectomy” 5 yrsa ago. I lost 90% of my erection ability and have recovered about 60% since. I only need about 0.10cc vs 0.25cc early on of Trimix 1, (0.5mg Phentolamine, 10mg Papaverine and 5mcg PGE1) This formula has one of the lowest amount of PGE which causes pain in some users. Don’t know if I can mention the compounding pharmacy I use here, but google “travel Trimix” and it brings up at lease one such pharmacyoffering various formulas with more or less PGE1. They come in very small vials of dry Trimix for mixing when needed so you don’t have to refrigerate a large batch. Trimix rocks!!!
Thanks everyone for sharing. I had complete prostrate surgery in April at Mayo clinic. I was told that all the nerves were spared and I should be fine in a few months. It’s been 5 months no erections so I went the trimix route, The DR prescribed .2 units, thus my first experience I ended up in the ER with three injections to reduce (no fun). I then went to .5 units, got some enlargement but not enough for erections. I went tried 1 units that was too much -erection lasted three hours.. I plan to go to .9 units hopefully will be the right amount.
How long does trimix last frozen? After the dose is set, I will be getting 30 doses per month for 6 months. Anyone used it after a year frozen?
Oh, and Leah, thank you so much for taking the lead in this. Awesome forum, and yes, trimix is excellent.
I had my robotic RP 12/28/17….As my cancer was progressed, I encoraged my surgeon to take the tissue needed to rid me of cancer…and he did…and my PSA remains today at .01 “undetectable”…an incredible blessing. My wife and I were resigned that we would make do and “ find other ways” to please each other. I tried a pump, viagra, etc…but my nerves were totally gone. So, about 4 months post op, my urologist shared with me about Trimix. Like most, I kind of “sphinctered” up at the thought of pressing a needle into my penis. but, if this possibly could work, I was willing to try it. My test injection in the clinic worked great…too great. After 3 hours I received two Phenolefrin shots and all was good. I took. First time I tried it with my wife, the was AMAZED and her first words were…” I can work with this!!”. We both literally cried as this development so far exceeded anything we thought we could ever experince again. I tell those that are considering this, there virtually is NO discomfort in the shots compared to the incredible joy it brings us. Once we got the dosage right and the erections down to about two hours, all remains great and our sex is BETTER than before surgery…because we view it as a gift that we will never take for granted. Good luck!!!
I’ve just recently started using Trimix, the ur recommended 0.2 ml – 0.5, I used 0.2, my erection was off the charts. The onset of an erection occurred within minutes and lasted over an hour. I couldn’t be more pleased. I found a pharmacy in San Antonio, TX, Talon Pharmacy, they can’t ship everywhere, but fortunately the can ship to Florida, their prices was the best I could find, $112 including freight for 10 ml, so at my present level I can get 50 injections, u can do the math, but that is is just a tad over $2/ injection. I will be 87 in January can u believe it, sex twice per week. I am going to incrementally back off from 0.2 to see how low I can go before failure. By the way I’m a non smoker, minimal alcohol, body fat in the single digits, resting heart rate 48 bpm work out six times per week.
Have been using Trimix for 15 months now since other means of obtaining erection failed for whatever reason. I am an extremely healthy man age 69 yo. who loves sex and by no means wish to stop at any age. Using an implant is not an acceptable route for me, in my opinion so I discovered a clinic in Indianapolis which helped tremendously. They premix the formula and provide individual syringes for each injection/application. Each formulation is designed for each individual. They should not be shared with a friend. So an experimentation time is required for each person to get the correct formulation. It is truly wonderful as mentioned in earlier post. Freezing of the formulation that I use is no problem. I have had the medication frozen now for 16 months with very little decrease in effectiveness. A word of advice is to thoroughly warm up the medication before injecting into the penis. It should be at room temperature. My clinic provided me with 34cc of medication which should be injected into the penis at either 10AM or 2PM using a manual injector with a safety device to assure the injector is fully depressed against the penis, before initializing the ejector button. Very important that the penis is fully flaccid/soft when injecting. When I first began using the medication I mistakenly injected with penis was half hard and found there to be NO medication to be ineffective and also caused bruising of the penis.
The medication is expensive but in our opinion well worth it for physical and mental health plus lots of fun with enjoyable sex. Cost for 3 month supply is $16 each injection.
Regards,
WRS
Pete
Been using TriMix5 for 10 months after trial and error ended up using 25 units for 30 minutes of pleasure .
No side effects at all
The greatest drug after prostate removal
I had a prostatectomy via robotic surgery. My operation was “nerve soaring” on one side. I never recovered the ability to get a natural erection even using Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis, but they did improve blood flow. One of the things they often fail to tell you is without getting erections you starve your penile cells of nourishing blood and you may loose length to your sex organ. I did research on the internet and found out about penile injections. Since The single dose of caverject causes pain, or aching in some, I elected to go straight to Trimix. Before bringing it up to my Urologist, I went to a Men’s Clinic who advertised a trail injection for $75. I went and they did a sonar test to hear my blood flow. They used a quadmix which gave me a good response, and used the sonar again. You could hear the blood flowing freely, unlike before the injection. They tried to sign me up for their program, but I passed. I then went to my urologist who prescribed Trimix. It is trial and error getting the right dose.. You start low, and go slow. I went to the middle strength Trimix offering, from the formulary the clinic I attend uses. I recommend using an auto injector. You don’t go through the apprehension anxiety. I found for best result to use a retention ring at the base of the penis.
The reason is.that if you have blood leakage back into your body (a cause of Ed) it keeps the injected Trimix in your penis long enough to relax your muscles to allow blood flow to engorge your member. Not everyone requires this step, but some keep upping their Trimix dose and it doesn’t work (disappointing and expensive). Using this method I get a nice rigid erection, and the retention band can be removed. I get my Trimix by fedex. It comes in a cooler along with a supply of needles, and alcohol swabs. I get a 5ml bottle. A dose for me is around 2 units, so I get about 22 injections. It costs me $140. I am 74, and my wife is 69. Our age and libidos require only a couple prescriptions a year. I would recommend Trimix to anyone that has ED. It works. Is easy to apply, and is painless. One injection lasts an hour or so. Also I recommend searching the internet for more information, so you have a good knowledge when you talk to your Urologist, or his PA.
Stumbled on this site by accident looking for a new compounding pharmacy for some of my patients. I’m glad there is encouragement and support out there however I will tell you this is very scary. there is a LOT of misinformation on here. In my opinion, penile injections is the BEST treatment option available for ED. It is NOT without potential complications if used incorrectly. Worst case scenario is it can result in amputation of the penis. I have been teaching the use of injections for over 18 years now. Our patients are thoroughly educated in a 2 step process before using ICI (intracavernous injections) at home. The first step is coming to a class (patient only) that is about 2 hours. They receive specifics related to each of the components in Trimix, possible side effects, complications and PREVENTION of both (because both ARE preventable). They are instructed how to read and prepare a syringe with medication for injection. It is then demonstrated on a penile model how the injection should be administered because there are variations in technique that can have a major impact on dosing and effectiveness of the injection for patients. Once a patient decides they want to proceed with treatment they will purchase their medication and return for the 2nd step, a trial dose in the clinic. this trial dose is very important. it gives the provider a baseline representation of how each patient will respond to the medication alone (without sexual stimulation of any kind). based on their response their starting dose for home is determined and they are given a titration scale for home to adjust as needed. Since our clinic is not driven by sales/profit we are more focused on safety and success, in that order. at the trial dose appointment the patient response to medication is rated on a scale referred to the Erection Hardness Score (EHS) : Ranging from 1–4 (1=penis is larger, but not hard; 2=penis is hard, but not hard enough for penetration; 3=penis is hard enough for penetration, but not completely hard; 4=penis is completely hard and fully rigid). if their response is close to a 3 they remain in the clinic for further monitoring. if it has not resolved within 2 hrs post injection they are injected with a reversal medication. They still leave with a starting dose and titration scale for home but it is reduced.
Our patients typically are not using doses as high as the ones being quoted on this site. They are using anything between 2 1/2 units (0.025ml) – 30 units (0.30 ml) of Trimix ( PGE1-Papaverine-Phentolamine 10mcg-12mg-1mg/mL formula). Yes! That is CORRECT! Two and on half units (using an insulin syringe).
My experience with Trimix ICI-
It WORKS
When done correctly there should be NO pain. If you have pain something was done incorrectly and most likely you will not have the greatest response to that injection
Contrary to what many believe, you CAN freeze Trimix, it does NOT degrade the quality of medication. the way it is dispensed and patients are told to store it is actually due to an
FDA regulation each of the compounding pharmacies is held accountable to
The majority of patients i have come across that have used it prior to seeing me in our clinic were not well informed and lacking in some serious information they should have been
aware of (or the information was downplayed significantly to them to make it seem less important)
Do not be afraid to use it but PLEASE do NOT believe it is 100% without risk if you are not fully infomred
I’ve been using trimix for about six months now The first time I Used trimix I injected 10 units and It started working right away Within five minutes I was fully erect And so hard The head was in pain but not enough to stop had sex took about a half hour longer then usually to cum After sex I still remain hard just watch the pre-cum drip and Dick stayed hard as steel Felt great ,had round two Wife was happy and so was I , After second round was still like steel I’m like omg Stuffs unbelievable I remain hard for a total of four hours I’m starting to get worried But it finally started a bend Also a extra benefit is after taking it for six months I noticed the girth of my dick seem bigger my girth is usually six inches By 7 inches long .So I took a tape measure out girth was 6 1/2” x 7 So I went online to do some research and found out a lot of people have the same affect one happy fella. I was wondering if there’s a lot of people that have the same affect
I have been using Tri Mix for several months. I find it works well. I used Viagra for years and it finally lost effectiveness.
We were dealing with the suspense of wondering if I was going to be able to penetrate her. If I succeed then we wondered would the erection stay hard enough or slip out.
I switched to Tri Mix and it has taken me a good two months, with sex once week, to figure out the dosage. I found a dosage that works and gives us about 20 to 30 min of intercourse.
One side effect of Tri Mix, it has turned my wife into a size queen. She wants to see how big and how hard we can make my erection. I find that the harder my erection is the more powerful her orgasm is.
Had a RP 10 months ago and have been on a penile rehabilitation program, 5 mg Cialis a day and 20 mg the day of, close but still no cigar.. I tried Trimix for the first time this weekend, 10 units, the injection was way better than anticipated, it’s a godsend, was erect in 10 mins and it lasted over an hour. I definitely recommend trying this, we’re both looking forward to the next time, honestly it was amazing, after 10 months of still great sex with toys etc there’s nothing like the real thing. FYI, I’m 62.
I have to agree have not had a successful erection in 5 years. on my first test does of TRIMIX was able to have sex. My only problem is that I cant seem to have an orgasm.
Any suggestions on having an orgasm while using Trimix? My wife and I can have good intercourse, but I cannot reach a climax.
