These are all things my wife, people we know or have overheard, or I myself have said. In print they look a little insane. My how parenting has changed…
5. Wife to husband: “Our son needs a laptop computer, you know, for school projects.”
4. Friend to friend: “Sure we can have a play date. I can fit you in after soccer and before yoga. But only for 45 minutes because he must be centered before class.”
3. Parent to child: “No, you can’t have any Kool Aid. What is that anyway?”
2. Parent to child: “Your MySpace page is restricted to only friends and family, ok?”
1. Husband to wife: “Perhaps we should get her a cell phone in case of emergencies.?Let’s?get something with GPS.”
Got any more?
?
When my kid was in the 3rd grade, he got an attitude with us because all of his classmates were constantly asking him, “So what’s your email address?” He’s in middle school and still doesn’t have one, but I know the day is steadily approaching . . . (smile).
Also, my brother and I were raised on Kool-Aid, but I doubt if my son has ever had it more than 3 or 4 times in his life. Times change, don’t they? (LOL)
Parent to child: “Stop watching TV and go play your Wii!” (we don’t actually have a wii…)
I don’t have any – but these are hilarious. It does show you that the times are certainly changing. Oh, I just thought of one…
Child to Parent: “I don’t like going over Aaron’s house – they have horrible cell phone reception.”
Well – maybe it wasn’t THAT funny. But, I’m no parent – so that was my attempt – lol.
Okay – I thought of a funny one – had to come back and do it.
Daughter to Mother: “Sure, we can go out for ice cream, but *looks at watch* we must be back by 3:00 because Oprah comes on at that time”
Better, right?
Oh wow, the one about kool-aid had me laughing out loud. I have nothing to add to the list but goodness, that’s a good one!
So true, so true….funny!
I have popped in on your blog once in a while from the J-M blog (Kyle and Owen) and I really enjoy reading it when I get here.
If you do not mind I think I may add it as a link on my blog.
~ Mandy
Parent to child: If you are going to blog do it after you finish your homework.
I can’t think of anything to add to the list but those were very funny! I make sure my kids know what kool-aid is though!
Kid to Parent “When will you be done? I have to download my homework assignments for the week?”
Kid to another Kid “Have your mom text my mom with my calendar so we can set up a playdate.”
