We survivors should always try to remember that advanced prostate cancer tries our caregivers in ways we do not always consider. We all know that they care and we all know they are worried. The longer our battle goes on, especially if our cancer is in something of a healthy balance (stabilized PSA) the more wearing it can be for all of us.
It is not selfishness when our caregivers become angry and frustrated, even when they show their anger and frustration. They are human beings with a ton of pressure. We should try and remember that they too have feelings about our cancer and how it affects their life.
Moreover, like us, they just wish this business were over–and by over I mean the two of you just enjoying a plate of broccoli and tomatoes accompanied by a real conversation.
