Women are often forgotten when a man is diagnosed with prostate cancer but a recent study shows that they are impacted by the diagnosis in a man who they love. As activists we need to develop programs for them and their partners. Their needs also need to become apparent to the medical community with resources for both partners to address these needs.

A diagnosis of prostate cancer may take as great a toll on wives’ well-being as it does men’s, new research suggests.
In a study of 263 prostate cancer patients and their wives, researchers found that the disease seemed to affect both partners’ emotional well-being and quality of life to a similar degree.
