What I have learned from cancer:
I learned that I will be have a million tomorrows, so I need to find a way not to waste any of them I may be fortunate to have.
I learned that I can’t control everything that happens to me, but I need to learn to control those things that I can.
I learned that I love people more than things, but I do have to admit things are also nice.
I learned to always tell my family that I love them each and every time I speak with them.
I learned that if I don’t pursue my dreams now, I might never be able to experience them.
I learned that there are people who will surprise me when I least expect.
I learned that I am the only one that can take charge of my health and my healthcare.
I learned that doctors aren’t always correct; sometimes my inner voice is a much better guide to making the correct decisions.
I learned that it doesn’t take much to make me either happy or sad.
I learned that cancer isn’t the worst thing that could happen to me.
I learned that the world isn’t waiting around for me; I need to take charge of my own life and world.
I learned to listen to every single person I meet because most do have something to teach me.
I have learned that family & friends may not be with me forever so I need to enjoy them now.
I have learned that I must value the time given to me because I never know if I will be here tomorrow.
So, what are some of the things that cancer has taught you?
