Would Barbara Walters have fired her a long time ago? A white friend of mine asked me that question yesterday. To her I replied, “What do you think?”

I don’t think so…The View SUCKS now… and Barbara needed that controversy, whether black or white to get ratings up…even if its not the viewers she normally has.

This is going to sound wierd – but in some ways Rosie is “Black.” The question should’ve been “If Rosie were from a different class, would Barbara have fired her?”

Hello Keith,
If Rosie were Black, would Barbara Walters have considered hiring her in the first place? It’s a shame that one too many people are still judging one another by the colour of our skin.

As long as the ratings were up and the show was the subject of “water cooler talk”, I don’t think Rosie would have been fired if she were black. It’ll be interesting to see how “The View” fares once Whoopi joins the cast this fall. Depending on the situation, Whoopi can be just as controversial as Rosie (w/o Rosie’s abrasiveness).
