Today, Bayer supplied Malecare with an update about the status of the Xofigo shortage.

Bayer has told us that they have identified the cause of the problem and have implemented a system to resolve the problem. They are hopeful that the first batch of drug will able to be released in the month of November, but a specific date is not known. The actual date is reliant on the approval of the regulating authorities including the FDA.

When the drug is available it will take some time to ship an adequate amount to meet demand. Bayer will rely on the individual doctors to decide in what order each of their patients will be receiving the drug.

Bayer is aware that patients and their friends and families are waiting with anxiety and fear for any news, good or bad, regarding Xofigo. We hope Bayer will place patients first, going forward.

It is a good idea for you to remind your doctor that you have missed your dosage and want to be among the first in their practice to receive the drug when it is received by them.
