Dev following me into the bathroom…
“Hey Daddy, before you close the door I want to ask you something.”
“Sure, what is it?”
“When are we going to start building?” he asked, referring to us tackling one of his massive 936-piece Lego sets that he got for his birthday. (I haven’t been feeling well so we haven’t jumped in yet.)
“Soon,” I said.
“Soon? Is that 5 minutes soon, or when you’re an old man soon?” His whole face was smiling when he said this. He knows me so well… I’m going to open the box right now just to save my reputation.
my boy finally got the point where we was willing to build a kit without me – then half an hour later proudly displays how he made it ‘better’ (by giving up on the instructions and making something else out of all those pieces)
Dev sounds like such a wise, old soul. His teen years should be something else . . .
My kids are well acquainted with “when you’re and old man soon.”
HAHAHAHA! That is hilarious! What is with boys wanting that deep, paternal connection in the commode? I guess men relate while in places of comfort, and that is a young boy’s first comfort zone. My son has even gone so far as to practice his digital photography skills with my porcelain-bethroned self as the subject (TMI?) Too funny.
LOL My sons hate it when I say, “One day.”
