You can help save prostate cancer research funding.

Yesterday, President Bush vetoed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 Labor, Health and Human Services (Labor-HHS) appropriations bill (HR 3043) that Congress passed last week. The Labor-HHS appropriations bill would not only reverse the President’s planned $480 million cut to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), it provides a modest 3.1% increase in the NIH budget and a 2.7% increase in funding for the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

ACTION NEEDED:

Contact your U.S. Senators and Representative and urge them to override the President’s veto of the FY 2008 Labor-HHS bill. Tell them in your own words how essential NIH and NCI funding are in sustaining progress in the fight against cancer. They will be voting to override the veto tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 15th) so it’s especially critical that you contact your Members of Congress TODAY by 5pm ET.

If you are unsure who your Senators and Representative are, go to to look them up .
