The presidential campaign season is now officially upon us and we are being besieged by both political parties as they ask for our financial support and our vote. When you consider which of the candidates to support you should factor into your decision their plans about cancer. Both of the presidential campaigns have released plans to combat cancer.

Senator Obama’s plan contains many important points that we have raise with elected officials, including a doubling of federal funding for cancer research at NIH and NCI within five years. Click here for the Obama/Biden plan.

Senator McCain’s plan focuses on coordinating research, prevention and early detection, and access to health care. Click here for the McCain/Palin plan.

The most important thing to do is to vote, but vote only after you have considered their policies.
